What you get

Stay where you are
Your server keeps running where it is today. Only your domain's DNS record changes.
Five networks, two countries
MTN, Airtel, Glo and T2 in Nigeria, and Safaricom in Kenya. More are being added.
No app changes
The same app, the same address. People on those networks just stop being charged data for it.
See when it is live
The proxy shows as Pending until your DNS change is seen, then Active.
On your usage page
Traffic through the proxy is listed under Zerodata, so you can see what you are paying for.
Undo it at any time
Delete the proxy and point your DNS record back at your server.

How it works

Set it up in three steps.

Create a proxy
Enter your domain and your server's IP address or hostname.
Change your DNS
Add the CNAME record the console shows at your DNS provider.
Wait for Active
DNS changes take from a few minutes to a few hours. The status changes to Active on its own.

Most DNS providers do not allow a CNAME on a root domain. Use www and redirect the root to it.

Pricing

You pay for the data, not your users.

Traffic to people on the five networks is billed to you instead of coming out of their data plan.

Questions

Common questions

Do I have to move my app?: No. It stays with your current host. Only the DNS record for your domain changes.
Can I use my root domain?: If your DNS provider supports CNAME flattening or ALIAS records, yes. If not, use www and redirect the root to it.
What if I delete the proxy?: Point your DNS record back at your server straight away. Until you do, requests to your domain will fail.
Is it ready for production?: The zerodata proxy is in beta. Features and pricing may change.
